How To Become A #Girlboss

It's amazing how fast time can pass by without you even fully realizing it. It's also incredible to see how much can change over the course of time...whether it's a short amount or not. Today marks 3 years since I first discovered Beachbody's coaching opportunity. Beachbody changed my life the year before when I first started my fitness journey in April of 2011. I had been praying for some relief and help to overcome my terrible post-partum depression. And after seeing the Turbo Fire infomercial so many times...I felt this was my answer. Since then, I have fallen more and more in love with this company, what it represents, and its mission...especially with what it has done for me and many others in my life.

I have seen my friends reclaim their happiness, their confidence, their self love. Prior to becoming a coach, my husband and I had spent a few good months researching and comparing the different meal replacements on the market. We are not ones to jump right in just because someone says to and we wanted to make sure that what I would put in my body would not harm me. We both decided that nothing compared to Shakeology in terms of quality, benefits, and nutrition. After sharing this, I was approached by a coach and was told that I could become one myself and earn 25% off all Beachbody products. I told my husband and we both thought this would be great, since we both love their workouts. I became a coach that night, not even knowing the full potential I would realize I had stumbled upon.

About two weeks later, I realized that I could build a business from this. I always knew I didn't want to work with others always telling me what to do or trying control me. I am very opinionated and knew that would always be an issue. However, with juggling being a mom, wife, and soon-to-be full-time student...I let all of my excuses get in the way and had one foot in and one foot out. I mainly enjoyed the 25% discount more than building a business.

By summer 2013, I started realizing that maybe I would want to create a life out of this. I told my husband that I wanted to attend Summit...to see if "this" was for me. That I would be done with school in a year and I wanted to see if this opportunity was something that I wanted.

Last June, we attended our very first Beachbody Coach Summit. I still remember all of it as if it were yesterday. Summit was hands-down a life changing experience for me. I had never felt more alive. I was surrounded by so many like-minded, passionate people. The energy from everyone was incredible. I also met my team for the first time. It was so much more than I could have imagined.

This coaching opportunity has opened up so many doors. I will forever be grateful for God to have given me such a phenomenal opportunity. Not only with Summit, but to be able to create amazing friendships with others that I would have never met otherwise, as well as helping others. It was that moment that I realized this was no longer something I wanted to do, but that God had placed me with.

In a short few months, I started really taking my business seriously. I knew deep in my heart that I would be able to make a difference in other people's lives...and to me that is absolutely rewarding. I am seriously so happy with what I do...helping women achieve their goals, kick butt, and feel confident in their own skin. I have never felt so much Purpose. Seeing and reading the happiness from those I work with gives my heart so much warmth and love.

I never imagined my life to be where it is now...never in a million years. What turned out to be a company that had amazing products that helped me overcome my depression to being able to help others in return. I have become my own #girlboss <3
